Best Mindbody Alternatives for 2026
Mindbody has been in the studio software market since 2001. If you run a yoga, pilates, barre, or dance studio, there is a good chance you started on it. It is the known quantity.
Known does not mean cheap or simple, though. Studio owners who start shopping for Mindbody alternatives usually run into the same handful of issues:
- Only one price is public. Mindbody publishes its Starter tier at $79 per month per location. Accelerate and Ultimate are quote-only, so you cannot see the real cost of the tier you need without a sales call.
- Pricing is per location. Open a second studio and the software bill multiplies with it.
- Extra fees sit on top. Mindbody charges commission on bookings made through its consumer marketplace. Its pricing page also notes processing fees on payments, texts, and some integrations without listing the rates.
- Twenty years of features means a learning curve. The platform is powerful, but it carries a lot of menus and workflows. New front desk staff often need days of training rather than a single shift.
None of that makes Mindbody a bad product, and we cover its real strengths below. The question is whether you are paying for parts of it your studio does not use.
How we chose
We kept this list to platforms a small studio or gym could realistically switch to, and judged each one on five things:
- Published pricing. Can you see what you will pay before you talk to sales?
- Studio fit. Does it handle class schedules, class packs, intro offers, waitlists, and late-cancel policies the way boutique studios run?
- Payments. What processing costs and terms come attached?
- Honest limits. What will you give up compared with Mindbody?
- Migration effort. How hard is it to get your client list moved?
Every competitor price below comes from our Gym Software Pricing Index, which records each vendor's public pricing page and the date it was checked. Where a vendor does not publish a price, we say so.
The best Mindbody alternatives in 2026
1. GymPoint (our product)
GymPoint is our product, so weigh this section accordingly. We list the limitations as plainly as the strengths.
Best for: independent yoga, pilates, barre, dance, and boutique fitness studios, plus small gyms, that want published pricing and do not depend on the Mindbody marketplace for new clients.
Pricing: GymPoint has three published plans.
- Free: $0 per month, unlimited members, one location. It requires GymPoint Payments, with no processing minimum.
- Growth: $149 per month.
- Pro: $249 per month, with unlimited locations.
Annual billing takes 20% off the paid plans. There are no setup fees and no long-term contracts. Free and Growth cover one location. Pro covers unlimited locations at one flat price, so a second studio does not multiply the bill. Card processing is 2.49% + 20¢ for in-person card transactions and 3.49% + 20¢ for online, card-on-file, and keyed transactions, per our processing rates page.
Standout strengths:
- The core studio toolkit is on Free. Billing, scheduling, online booking, class packs, waivers, POS, a check-in kiosk, and the member portal are all included at $0.
- Class packs work the way studios sell them. Each check-in uses one credit. When a client buys the same pack again before it runs out, the new credits stack and the expiry extends.
- Late-cancel and no-show fees are built in. Set your notice window, and the fee is charged to the card on file or invoiced. Staff can waive or refund it.
- Kisi door access on every plan, including Free. That matters if you run early or unstaffed classes. See gym access control.
- A free payment terminal for accounts processing over $5,000 per month, with tap to pay, Apple Pay, and card-on-file enrollment by tapping a card.
- Pulse AI on Growth and Pro. Churn prediction, AI-drafted messages, and a weekly insights digest flag clients who are drifting before they cancel. Growth and Pro also add a lead pipeline, collections, and corporate billing.
Honest limitations:
- No consumer marketplace. If the Mindbody app sends you a steady stream of first-time clients, you lose that channel.
- No Reserve with Google. Clients cannot book you directly from Google Search or Maps.
- No App Store or Google Play app. The member portal installs to a phone's home screen from the browser, with your studio's name and logo, but it is not listed in the app stores.
- No on-demand video library. If you sell recorded classes, you will need a separate tool.
- Fewer integrations. Mindbody has 200+ third-party integrations. GymPoint's list is much shorter, and its public API, webhooks, and Zapier support are in development.
- Card payments only. There is no ACH bank debit.
Migration note: GymPoint imports directly from Mindbody's export format, including client profiles, contact info, and membership history. Card details do not transfer, covered below.
2. Arketa
Best for: solo yoga and pilates instructors who teach independently rather than running a multi-instructor studio.
Pricing: Arketa publishes its Individual plans, which are built for solo instructors. Individual Basic is $49 per month and Individual Suite is $124 per month, both billed annually. Its Studio plan, the one most studio owners would need, is not priced on its pricing page and requires a sales call. Payments run through Stripe, with an additional 3% platform fee on Individual plans.
Standout strengths:
- Solo instructors can see a price up front, which is more than Mindbody offers above Starter.
- A free trial is available.
Honest limitations:
- Studios with a staff of instructors are back to a sales call for pricing.
- The 3% platform fee on top of Stripe processing adds up fast. Run the math on your monthly card volume first.
Migration note: ask what import format Arketa accepts and whether active class pack balances carry over.
3. Glofox
Best for: boutique studios that want a polished branded app in the App Store and Google Play and are comfortable with a sales-led buying process.
Pricing: Glofox does not publish prices. Its pricing page is an interactive calculator that asks for your business type and location count before showing any figure, and it does not list a free tier.
Standout strengths:
- A strong white-label native app for members, listed in both app stores.
- Backing from ABC Fitness Solutions, which owns Glofox.
- Dedicated account management and onboarding support.
Honest limitations:
- No published pricing, which is the same problem many owners are trying to escape at Mindbody.
- Full API and webhook access is limited to its Enterprise tier.
Migration note: get the import scope, timeline, and any onboarding fee in writing before you sign.
4. Vagaro
Best for: appointment-heavy studios with a small number of instructors, such as private pilates or personal training, where pricing by calendar beats pricing by member.
Pricing: Vagaro prices by bookable calendar, not member count. One calendar is $23.99 per month on a promotional price, with a list price of $30.00. Seven or more calendars is $83.99 per month on promotion, with a list price of $90.00. Multi-location pricing is quoted separately.
Standout strengths:
- The lowest published entry price on this list among paid plans.
- Cancel anytime, with no cancellation fees.
- A 30-day free trial.
Honest limitations:
- Email marketing, text marketing, and the branded app are paid add-ons, and the free trial excludes them. Price out the add-ons you actually need.
- Budget at the list price, not the promotion.
Migration note: because Vagaro is organized around calendars, map each instructor or room to a calendar before importing, and confirm how your class packs will carry over.
5. Zen Planner
Best for: martial arts schools and CrossFit gyms. It can run a studio, but its heritage is belt testing and workouts rather than yoga or barre.
Pricing: Zen Planner publishes starting prices by tier: Studio at $99 per month, Essentials at $198 per month, and Ultimate at $348 per month. Those prices scale with your active member count. Extensions cost extra: Engage is $249 per month, a website is $99 per month, and the branded app and EMV card devices are $39 per month each. Processing fees may apply.
Standout strengths:
- A branded native mobile app, as a paid extension.
- Built-in workout tracking and belt-testing workflows.
- Integrations across the wider Daxko ecosystem.
Honest limitations:
- Your bill grows as your roster grows, which works against you as a studio fills up.
- Its FAQ mentions both month-to-month and a 12-month commitment. Confirm which one applies to your quote.
Migration note: confirm your active member count before you get a quote, since it sets your price.
6. PushPress
Best for: CrossFit boxes and functional fitness gyms. A barre or yoga studio can use it, but its tools lean toward WOD programming.
Pricing: PushPress has a Free plan at $0 per month with limited features. Pro is $159 per month and Max is $229 per month. Card processing is 4.99% + 30¢ on Free, 2.89% + 30¢ on Pro, and 2.75% + 30¢ on Max. It does not publish a contract length.
Standout strengths:
- A genuinely free entry plan.
- A native member app, Train, in the app stores.
- Built-in WOD and workout tracking.
Honest limitations:
- The Free plan carries the highest processing rate on its price sheet, so it is not free once you take cards.
- Kisi door access is on Pro and Max only.
Migration note: compare the processing rate on the plan you would actually use, not just the subscription price.
7. Jackrabbit Class
Best for: youth dance studios, gymnastics, swim schools, and cheer programs that bill tuition by family and run recitals.
Pricing: Jackrabbit Class starts at $49 per month and scales by student count. Plus starts at $93 per month, with a $169 setup fee plus app-store fees. Enterprise is $245 per month regardless of student count, or $331 per month with Plus. Integration partners may bill separately.
Standout strengths:
- Purpose-built for children's activity businesses.
- Tuition management, skill tracking with progress reports, and recital and event management.
Honest limitations:
- It is built around kids' programs. An adult yoga, pilates, or barre studio will not use most of what makes it different.
- Costs rise with student count until you reach Enterprise.
Migration note: reconcile families and balances before cutover, and agree on a billing switch date. Stored card details will not move in a CSV.

Where Mindbody still wins
Stay with Mindbody if its consumer marketplace fills your intro classes, if Reserve with Google drives real bookings, if you need an app store app, or if you depend on one of its 200+ integrations. Large multi-location brands may also value its long enterprise track record. If none of those apply, you are likely paying for reach and complexity you do not use.
Switching from Mindbody: what to expect
Switching is mostly a data and communication project.
1. Export before you cancel. Pull your client list, active memberships, class pack balances, and contact details out of Mindbody while you still have full access. Keep a copy of the raw export.
2. Card details do not transfer. Card numbers cannot move between systems for PCI compliance reasons. Every client with a card on file will need to add it again in the new platform. In GymPoint, you send a portal invite by email, and clients add their card themselves. Start with the clients whose next billing date is soonest.
3. Clean and import your client CSV. GymPoint imports CSV files, and dates must be in MM/DD/YYYY or YYYY-MM-DD format. Avoid day-first dates like 15/03/2025, which are ambiguous. Check names, emails, phone numbers, and join dates before you upload. The CSV import guide walks through each field.
4. Rebuild your schedule and pricing. Set up class templates, class packs, trial periods, and your late-cancel window. Retire old pricing options nobody buys.
5. Plan for three to four weeks. Our migration planning guide lays out the phases: planning, import, cutover, and stabilization. A typical move takes 3 to 4 weeks from start to full confidence. Smaller studios with clean data can often finish faster.
6. Verify before the first billing run. Spot-check a handful of client profiles for the right plan, status, and next billing date. The post-migration checklist covers what to confirm.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a free alternative to Mindbody?
Yes. GymPoint's Free plan is $0 per month for unlimited members at one location, and it includes billing, scheduling, online booking, class packs, waivers, POS, a kiosk, and the member portal. It requires GymPoint Payments, with no processing minimum. PushPress also has a free plan, with limited features and a 4.99% + 30¢ processing rate. Mindbody does not list a free plan.
What does Mindbody cost?
Mindbody publishes one price: Starter at $79 per month per location. Its Accelerate and Ultimate tiers are quote-only and require a demo. On top of the subscription, Mindbody charges commission on marketplace bookings, and its pricing page notes processing fees on payments, texts, and some integrations without listing the rates. Pricing last checked October 2026.
What is the best Mindbody alternative for yoga and pilates studios?
It depends on how you get new clients. If the Mindbody marketplace is not a major source, GymPoint gives you the core studio tools, including class packs and late-cancel fees, starting free. Solo instructors may prefer Arketa's Individual plans. Studios that want a branded app store app and do not mind a sales call can look at Glofox. See our yoga studio and pilates studio pages for details.
Will I lose clients who found me through the Mindbody app?
You lose the marketplace as a booking channel, because the listing is part of Mindbody. Existing clients can book through your new booking page. Before switching, check how many recent new clients came through the marketplace.
Do my clients' saved cards move over when I switch?
No. Card numbers cannot be transferred between platforms. Clients add their card again through the new platform. In GymPoint, you send a portal invite and clients add their own card, so your staff never handles card numbers.
