Install the Member App on Your Phone

How members install their gym's GymPoint member app on iPhone (Safari or Chrome) and Android from the browser, what installing changes, and what the app does not do yet.

Your gym's member portal can be installed on your phone like an app. It installs straight from your browser, so there is nothing to download from the App Store or Google Play. Once installed, it sits on your home screen with your gym's logo and name and opens full screen.

    Before You Start

Use the setup link your gym gave you. It may come in your welcome email, your welcome text, or from a QR code poster at the front desk. The link opens your gym's setup page, and you can start installing before you sign in.

If you opened the link inside another app, such as Instagram or Facebook, on an iPhone, open it in Safari first. The setup page tells you when this is needed.

    iPhone with Safari

    1. Open your gym's setup link in Safari.
    2. Tap Share. On newer iPhones, tap the More button (three dots) beside the address first, then tap Share.
    3. Tap View More (the down arrow at the bottom right of the Share menu).
    4. Tap Add to Home Screen.
    5. Keep Open as Web App turned on if you see it, then tap Add.

The setup page shows these same steps with an animated walkthrough.

    iPhone with Chrome

    1. Open your gym's setup link in Chrome.
    2. Tap the Share icon on the right side of the address bar.
    3. Tap View More (the down arrow at the bottom right of the Share menu).
    4. Tap + Add to Home Screen.

    Android

    1. Open your gym's setup link in Chrome.
    2. Tap Install when your browser offers it.
    3. If you do not see an install button, open the browser menu and choose Install app or Add to Home Screen.

The same install button also appears in desktop browsers that support installing web apps.

    What Changes After You Install

    • A home screen icon. Your gym's logo is the icon and your gym's name appears under it.
    • Full screen. The app opens without the browser address bar, like other apps on your phone.
    • The same portal. Everything you can do in the member portal works in the app: booking classes, managing your membership and payment methods, invoices, waivers, your check-in code, and messages with your gym.
    • You stay signed in. Sign in once inside the app and it keeps you signed in when you close and reopen it. On iPhone the installed app keeps its own sign-in, so you may need to sign in once more even if you were already signed in in Safari.

What the App Does Not Do Yet

    • No offline mode. The app needs an internet connection, including to show your check-in code.
    • No push notifications. Your gym still reaches you by email and text message.
    • No app store listing. You will not find your gym's app in the App Store or Google Play. Always install from your gym's setup link.

    Troubleshooting

    • I do not see Add to Home Screen on iPhone. Make sure you are in Safari or Chrome, not inside another app's browser.
    • I snoozed the install banner. The banner in the portal stays hidden for a while after you dismiss it. You can still install at any time from your gym's setup link.
