Set Up and Share Your Member App
How gym owners brand the installable GymPoint member app (icon, home screen name, brand color), share it with a setup link, QR poster, and welcome messages, and track how many members installed it.

Your member portal doubles as an app your members can install on iPhone or Android from the browser. It runs on your gym's own address, uses your logo as the icon, and shows your gym's name on the home screen. There is no App Store or Google Play listing to create or maintain. For the member-side steps, see Install the Member App on Your Phone.
Brand the App
The app icon, home screen name, and color come from your logo and brand settings.
- Go to Settings > Organization and open Change Logo.
- Upload your logo. GymPoint generates the app icons from it. If you have no logo yet, a monogram icon is used.
- Under App icon, you can upload a square app icon instead if your logo is wide or hard to read at small sizes.
- Under Brand color, pick your color. It is used for the app icon background and the phone's status bar. GymPoint warns you if white text on that color is hard to read.
- Set the Home screen name. Up to 12 characters, since phones cut off longer names.
- Click Save brand.
New icons are ready within a few minutes.
Share the App
Go to Settings > Member App. The Share the member app card gives you two ways to get the app to members:
- Copy install link. Paste it into emails, texts, your website, or social posts. The link opens a setup page with install steps for each phone, and members can use it before they sign in.
- Print poster. Prints a poster with your logo and a QR code members scan at the front desk to open the setup page.
Welcome Email and Welcome Text
The default Welcome Email and Welcome SMS templates include the install link, so new members get it automatically. If you edited those templates before the member app launched, add the {app_install_url} variable where you want the link to appear.
Install Prompts in the Portal
Members who visit the portal in a browser see an install prompt:
- Android and desktop browsers show an install button that opens the browser's own install dialog.
- iPhone shows a step-by-step walkthrough for Safari and Chrome, since iPhone has no install button.
Members can dismiss the prompt. It stays hidden for two weeks after they do.
Track Adoption
Add the Members with the app tile to your dashboard. It shows the share of your active members who have installed the app, along with the count.
What Is Not Included Yet
- The app has no offline mode and does not send push notifications. Keep using email and SMS to reach members.
- The App Settings, App Features, and Push Notifications cards on the Member App settings page are marked coming soon.
